Negativity & Pessimism
Do you to look for all of the reasons an idea will fail or goals cannot be accomplished?

Withdrawal
Do you struggle to connect with those around you or actively avoid collaboration?
You are Not Alone
The personal, professional, social, and economic challenges we face globally can overwhelm even the most optimistic among us. The reality is, optimism isn’t enough. What the world needs right now is HOPE. You may be asking, “Aren’t optimism and hope the same thing?” The short answer is, no.
While both hope and optimism are rooted in the belief that things can improve, an optimist relies on others to create that better future. In contrast, those who are hopeful understand that the future can be better and each and every one of us has a role in making that future our reality. Specifically, hopeful people understand three truths:
- Your future can be better,
- There are actions you can take to achieve your goals, and
- You are willing to do the work to pursue your future reality.
It’s time to move beyond optimism and harness the power of hope in our personal and professional lives to reignite the spark we need for the work ahead.
Why Hope?
As an evidence-based framework, Hope Theory helps us understand how our thoughts and behaviors impact our ability to create the lives we desire. It is a powerful predictor of positive outcomes, serves as a protective factor for adversity and stress, and helps us understand the ways our thoughts and behaviors impact our well-being. Hope is a skill that can be taught, implemented, and scaled.
Those who are hopeful understand their ability to create positive change. They roll up their sleeves and persist until they achieve their goals. When one strategy fails, they regroup and try again. Applying these simple yet powerful tools to your personal and professional challenges, hope can reignite your light. I know because I have been both hopeless and hopeful, and the difference between the two is nothing less than revolutionary.
I had help on my journey from hopeless to hopeful. I had access to people who taught me the skills I needed to get grounded, set goals, identify pathways to achieve those goals, and find the courage to get to work. The truth is, we all need help along the way. Manifesting Hope is my way of paying that help forward because a hopeful future isn’t only for those of us who were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time – it is a divine right that should be accessible to all human beings.
I invite you to join me as we reclaim our right to a hopeful future.
